I genuinely never knew there was this much competition for minimum wage jobs. Like people getting rejected for store clerks and cashiers?
I swear went to apply to a job an Indian taking my resume and then nigga asked me if I have a visa status because they can paid as less as half the minimum wage

Dude, I had to apply to over 80+ local minimum wage jobs online (just to get left on read most of the time) and walk in person to a bunch of businesses before finally landing an interview. It's crazy what you need to do.

They imported so many since 2011 that 80% of the population growth from that year onwards till now is solely due to immigration

Dont give up brah. I got these offers after getting rejected a lot of times. You only need one chance to snatch it. There's no need to beat yourself too much. Just shrug it off and try harder. There's always a another chance to prove yourself to make it count @Pencil @pajjeetslayer @Glorious King

how did u get pass screening?

also was you're resume ats optimized?
Im from a Target school so that helped me get past screening. The first round for AMD was online assessment. 20-25 questions on fundamentals and a couple of coding questions one on arrays and one on hashmaps. All standard stuff but AMD also asked a few hardware architecture problems like cache coherence, paging etc despite me applying for a software role. I think they have the same OA for both hardware and software hence why I was asked those questions

did u apply on their portal?

also another thing that's bothering me is during the managerial rounds how did u manage to convince the manager that u could adapt to hardware role "even if u hadn't mentioned bout hardware stuff"?

cus a lot of times i get shit on that fact since im into ML/AI and they would just outcast me that the requirements don't match u :feelswah:

They didn't ask me any deep hardware questions because I mainly applied for a software role. During the interview I didn't try to pretend I was a hardware expert I just focused on showing that I understood how software interacts with hardware and showed them I had done 1-2 low level hardware projects as a part of my course and understood how they interacted with each other and that was enough. They aren't looking for 100% match of all the requirements it's about convincing them that your learning curve won't be too long and you can learn enough in a few months to be useful.

if you are not stooping to the same level as curries that means that you still have alternative options.

Congrats man. Focus on low level coding concepts and base computer fundamentals like Process creation, semaphores, indexing, DBMS rollbacks, OOPs concepts,TCP, UDP networks etc all that stuff, don't stress too much on DSA they won't ask that in depth just brush up the basics and you should be good

markets are efficient and introduction of new labour generally shouldn't affect employment rates if there is a subsequent rise in productivity. i am sure something else is going on in canada or this theory is wrong.

those whites who were fired decrease the cost of commodities so according to efficient market thesis net employment must not have decreased.

I hate living in Canada

This is for summer, but get a CPR certification and apply for day camp roles, i used to do this and it paid ok. It might transfer it to a more permanent position.

if youre really desperate, lie on your resume, go apply to trade/helper roles, apply to work at a gym, golf course etc.. If you're confident enough and know how to hold a conversation you should get the job. for jobs like these there's not much drawback to lying, this of course will not work for more technical roles. Literally think of any entry-ish level job that you dont see indians working in. but make sure a certification or license isnt required that u dont have.
