This isn't an apt comparison. And you're wrong

1. Most Southern Italians are themselves "brown". Or "intermediate".

So they're clearly in line with Lebanon in terms of uniparental markers, autosomal markers and skin tone. There's too much overlap.

2. The FST values between said Southern Italians (Sicilians in this case) and the Levant is ~0.0046 (more or less depending on the inclusion or exclusion of Cypriots and/or Druze). Between Poland and Southern Italians, it's ~0.009. Southern Italians are actually closer to the Levant as a whole than Europe as a whole.

3. Skin colour only has a genetic correlation between guess what? WESTERN EURASIANS, NORTH AFRICANS AND CENTRAL ASIANS. Because the skin lightening genes are the same.

The reverse is then true. Darker skin in Southern Italians is due to admixture and not "convergent evolution"; Europeans and Middle Easterners don't substantially differ. It is what it is.

"European" and "Arab" are ill-defined terms and YES, Western Eurasians in general overlap in terms of craniofacial features. The differences between Western Eurasians is pretty much not worth talking about.
