Maybe you read my threads about them

I am still trying to taper of my AD
And it seems like I have to taper it off very very very slowly. It can take 2-3 years. I hope I manage it in 1 year. Why that long? I reduced it by like 50% and got heavy suicidal thought. The hardest part is in the small dosage range. Stupid docs will tell you just take half dosage every 2 weeks. This works for some people but for other this is HELL. You will get withdrawls like an 10 years heroine addict. In fact the withdrawls are much more terrible than your depression.

If someone struggles with tapering them off, then just write me

Also the only SSRI I would touch, if you have no choice, is sertraline/zoloft because it has some dopamine reuptake abilities, although it seems to be very small. However managing prolactine is very important

I advise you to escalate the gradually increase the amount at least by one week intervals.
By doing this, the risk for withdrawal and dependance decreases by a lot. Also, it gives your doctors time to asses the adverse effects, which, in my experience, can even end in patients taking their own lives.
Be safe.

Best of luck buddy

Nicotine and caffeine work best as an anti depressant.

i used SSRI-escitalopram for 6 months. Had very heavy sides the first 2 weeks I used it. When the sides went away, I didn't notice a difference anymore from before. Eventually went on a doubled dose 3 months later. Didnt change anything.

My psych then advised me to slowly quit escitalopram over a period of 3 months, reducing the dose. So that I can try out a different anti-depressant. I told him I have no time for this shit and I need a fix now.

I quit the high escitalopram dose cold-turkey against his advice. Noticed 0 difference, nothing. Never tried a different anti-depressant ever again.

I take 100mg sertraline, tried to taper off by taking every other day and it wasn’t good. going to change prescription and take 50mg daily instead, I think it has something to do with the half-life

imo ketamine is the best against depression

never do every other day

Start decreasing it slowly, like 10% dose decrease every 2 weeks.

Specially in the low are (25-0mg) you must be very cautious. You have to get the liquid form and do 1-5 mg less every 2 weeks.

I also took 100mg for 7 years jfl
It made me somewhat numb

I am much better with 50-75mg. More focus, more motivated. Less zombie like. In fact I even like the effect, it has advantages. However I want to do bloodwork to look at my free T and dopamine levels. If they are too low, I would continue tapering them off and start taking boron (2 weeks on, 1 week off) and creatine (12 weeks on, 4 weeks off) and vitd, magnesium, zinc on off

Drugs never work long term

I had such a similar experience to this. I’ve been prescribed many different anti-depressants and never felt any different on any of them. Even when my psychiatrist kept increasing the dosage, until I started taking some really huge doses. Still nothing, eventually got tired of the ordeal and just quit cold turkey one day and felt zero difference. No withdrawals etc. The one thing I did notice on SSRIs, actually, was that my dick was not very sensitive anymore. I could fuck for hours, which was actually the best part. I felt like a pornstar when I was fucking on SSRIs

Yeah, I feel like substances have very little effect on my in general. Whether it's alcohol, caffeine, weed, SSRI's. I stay very much in my mind, emotionally unaffected.

The fact it took 6 months to just 'try-out' 1 type of SSRI and they wanted me to take 6 months to try out the next one just made my lose hope in psychiatry. Waste of so much time.

The bitch even suggested electroshock therapy. I caged at her and didn't see her after that anymore.
