Started finasteride

My erections are still fine but I don't have much sex interest in the daily life anymore. Interest in girls just seem less. Not necessarily a bad thing, because i can still perform when it matters. but not sure if this is considered a sideeffect or not.


Maybe erections are a little bit less strong if not stimulated (disapear faster) but it's not a problem in the act. Currently lowering dose from 1.25 MG EOD to 0.625 EOD. Hopefully "sides" disapears with that.

Did anyone on here have "sides" first but they went away from just taking the pill and ur body adjusting to it? Or is it more likely this is how it will be

Im not taking finasteride atm (will start soon) but I honestly think you should go 0.25 unless you have some extremely agressive balding pattern. 1mg/ed is a complete overkill and doesn't reduce DHT by much more than 0.5 or 0.25.

Yes but its only those 5MG pills aviable in my country. Cutting them into 8s (0.625) is already hard enough.. but i could try cuttin the pill into 16's.

I'm still on finasteride. Theres only 5mg pills in my country so i cut it into 8 parts. I can explain how I do it if people are interested, it's a little difficult but very possible. I take the 1/8 part every other day (so around 0.625mg every other day)


Context:
I'm a NW0 btw but I had diffuse thinning on all over my scalp, especially in crown area. The reaper did what he likes best for probably three years before I took action. My hair still looks (almost) perfect when I styled it in the morning (because NW0). But it was getting thinner day by day. But I repeat: me balding was really only visible when I had very long hair (I was metalcel) or when my hair was wet after a shower

Pre-finasteride I was losing many hairs most days. Some days more than others. One day I lost 200 hairs in one 'rubbing my hair- session'. Some days I lost almost nothing. Probably one of the reasons why I was so hesisent to start finasteride, I think I was rationalizing in my head that I might was not balding.

But the pictures say otherwise. Looking back at pics from when I was 16-17, my hair was much thicker than it is today. Remember guys, hair loss is usually not visible before you have lost like 60% of your total hair. (This obviously also depends on your balding pattern) Luckily I started soon enough so my hair is still thick.


Since starting finasteride I don't think my hair is any notiable thicker than baseline yet. But I do have some small thin hair on my hairline, and I think they are new.

I dont know exactly how many hairs I lose now. But my hair loss has definetly slowed down. Lets take my fingers through my hair right now..................... -> woah, I didnt get any hairs on my hands. this feeling is awesome


Side effects:
- Beard grows slower.
My beard is really weak, I have almost NO beard at all. This scares me a little bit because I would like to have a beard when I get older. But I valued my hair over a potential beard in the future. I'm considering startinf minoxidil on my beard while on finasteride, and see if that gets me somewhere. What do you guys think? This is a dilemma

- Maybe a little less sex drive
But my penis still works. There is possibly a little decrease in erection quality, but could also be from fapping. So now I'm doing nofap. This could also be nocebo, because I was super scared to start finasteride and read a lot of horror stories online. (dont do that!!!)
I still get horny from time to time. While I'm on nofap now I get morning erections. So I think everything is fine. Will update you guys how it works when I get laid



Also I want to add:
I thought a lot about hair loss. Was browsing this forum and on reddit (tressless) about hairloss. Was really scared to take finasteride.

I feel good now because I know I'm doing what I can do. If finasteride doesnt work, at least I tried. If I never started and kept losing my hair, I would never have known if it would have been possible for me to keep my hair or not. This for me is important, and feels right. Hair is important to shape your face right.

Ignore the fearmongers online. My recommandation if you are losing your hair, is to just pull the trigger and start fin. If you experience sides, well, thats sad, but you know that at least know you tried.

I even saw a high IQ doctoron youtube (Ali Abdaal) said in a QNA he used it. I think many more people use it without us knowing. Only reason I know Ali Abdaal uses it is because someone asked him and he responded.
