When I was 14, I started starving myself during the summer. After trying to lose weight the healthy way by going to the gym and building muscle, I didn’t see any results in the first month, which terrified me since I didn’t know how long it would take before it was noticeable, and my number 1 goal was to look completely different before school started. As my entire life before that, I had been bullied for being fat, and I was tired of it. So instead of just going to the gym more, I decided to starve myself as much as I could for the next month. I went from 136 lbs before summer to 109 lbs after. Safe to say it was the worst month of my life. During all this, my girlfriend was ghosting me for a reason I don’t know, but because I had no self-worth and was desperate for just knowing I had a girlfriend, I stayed even though I was miserable. Despite how terrible it was, it was very clear the starving worked. All ny friends told me how skinny I looked, teachers told me I looked malnourished, and obviously, my parents complained the most. Around 4 days after school started, the girlfriend who was ghosting me left me because she thought she was too fat for me now, and even though it did really hurt, just a month later, I managed to get with one of her friends that was extremely beautiful, whom I’ll call “V” to avoid confusion. This is my biggest accomplishment in weight loss. I tell people since before I lost weight, yeah, I still had 3 girlfriends, but the first one cheated on me, the second one only lasted for an hour, and I just explained the third one, which lasted for 2 months. With V, we’ve been together for 1 year and 2 months now and are still going strong.

Now before anyone takes this as a sign to starve themselves, make sure not to make a mistake. You see, I starved myself during the peak of my puberty, which is extremely bad because not getting enough nutrients when you’re supposed to be growing obviously makes it a lot harder to grow. I managed to get into an amazing relationship and stop getting bullied for my weight, for the cost of there being a chance I never reach the height I was supposed to reach.
