I see so many athletes who do things like basketball, football, and track, and when their not training with the team, in the gym all they do is bodybuilder type workouts like lat pulldowns and fuck rear delt flys. Im not saying dont train static weight, as a combat athlete i do so myself too, but when you are, focus on compund lifts and not aesthetic accessory ones, like squats, bench, deadlift. If you want to focus on aesthetics too then obviously feel free to do so but just not as often as youre normal training. Also work on explosiveness, sport specific excercises, core endurance and cardiovascular training, because thats what you need for your sport to preform better

Cardio is wildly underrated as an exercise form.
