Yes, you heard me right. STOP USING CHAPSTICK!!!
Companies such as Blistex, no matter how much you may like them, and they do provide relief in the moment, they end up putting in other chemicals that keep your lips dry so you have to keep on applying it. I've seen people here complain about having to put on chapstick every 30 minutes, and this is the reason why!!!
Even Vaseline won't help in some cases, because it doesn't add moisture to your lips but it instead keeps existing moisture retained. USE AQUAPHOR!! I love it so much and it wont dry out your lips and fixes the issue quite fast. I'm surprised no one else has talked about this! Unless you've found some sort of lip balm/chapstick that doesn't have this effect on you, use aquaphor instead!!
And if you want to keep coping and use lip balms even though aquaphor will also help with many other things other than lips:
Avoid ingredients like phenol, menthol and salicylic acid.
