I’ve looked on this forum about strabismus and I can’t find anything about it. So I thought id make a guide on frauds and things to help with this.

Me myself I have an eye misalignment where my right eye is weaker than my left and drifts outwards and it is a really big confidence issue.
Not being able to talk face to face with people or look them in the eyes is a serious problem with have a eye misalignment or strabismus.

FRAUDS:

A lot of quick and temporary frauds can help a lot with this

Sunglasses: wearing sunglasses when u go out so no body can see your eyes is a big help

Focus: focusing on a certain object can align ur eyes temporarily and basically “reset” them if you feel any drifting

LONG TERM HELP:

Eye exercises: Some people with strabismus benefit from specific eye exercises designed to strengthen the eye muscles and improve coordination.
Some exercises are
pencil trick: Hold a pencil or similar object at arm's length and slowly bring it toward your nose while keeping your eyes focused on it.

Vision therapy:
Vision therapy is a structured program of activities designed to improve the brain's ability to process visual information and coordinate eye movements.
Tracking exercises are a big help, for tracking exercises you need to be following a moving object with your eyes without moving your head.

Corrective lenses in glasses:

Sometimes, misalignment occurs due to uncorrected vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. Wearing prescription glasses might help reduce eye strain and improve alignment for some People.

Patching the stronger eye:

By covering the stronger eye, the brain is encouraged to use the weaker, misaligned eye Therefore increasing the strength in the weaker eye forcing the eyes to align(works better in younger people, don’t over do it as it will make it worse by pointing the eye inwards/outwards) the patch should be kept on for 4-8 hours per day.


Reducing eye strain:

Proper lighting, taking breaks from screens, and making sure you're not straining your eyes can be important. Overexerting your eyes can worsen misalignment issues.

SURGERY:

this is the last option if any of these methods don’t work or the strabismus is excessive

Muscle resection:

This procedure involves shortening a muscle that is too weak or stretched out. By making the muscle stronger, the eye will be pulled in the correct direction. Recovery can take 1-2 weeks and eyes will be red for a few days post surgery.

Sorry for low iq post but this is everything I know about this. Also sorry about how it’s structured hopefully this can help someone.
