During PE (I have to take it because my credits didn’t transfer from my previous school), we were doing a 40-minute walk when I suddenly heard a voice: “Hey, I saw you drawing during study hall. You’re really good at drawing! My name’s— (I do not recall her name, but if I did I would refrain from entering it here).”
I turned my eyes to her unfortunate and unnaturally swollen face. She had what could only be described as an epithelial tumor on her ear, with hair growing from it. I chatted with her briefly in order to not be rude, but when she gave the TA her number to be tallied for laps, I sprinted away without looking back.
I cannot describe the feeling of having not only to speak, but also to make eye contact with someone with such repugnant facial features. I am not joking I genuinely felt a deep and unshakable sorrow because of her.
This has unironically deepened my view of humanity. That may sound cryptic and corny, but I mean it in the truest and most earnest sense.
This was a bit of a vent but I hope if anyone reads this you can relate to my experience.
