Humans are extremely lazy creatures.
Napoleon rightfully said that men are motivated by two things only: fear and interest.
This is why you find yourself to be a "last minute" type of man. With test taking and all action in general, you only do things when you absolutely have to or some negative fate will befall you as a repercussion of not doing it.
Often it takes that actual negative repercussion to slightly hurt you before you finally start to take action.
You finally start studying when you begin to fail, and risk being kicked out of college, losing all your money, or being poor motivates you to make money, etc.
Often enough, it's the negatives in life that motivate men to become their highest form of themselves, not the positives.
This is why I am hesitant to say that being given "chadhood" or wealth, money, any of that improves ones character in life at all. Being given anything merely negates the pain of not having it. For example being given a tall height makes one not feel the pain of feeling short. So it has that one benefit: being given something protects you from the pain of not having it.
But there's also very valuable character development skills that could probably only be gained from being short. I also advise you to trust my opinion on this slightly. I've seen special forces members first hand im high stress environments who were short, ugly, and balding, respond to stress in ways that taller men backed down from. Because there is quite literally character development from suffering that can't be obtained without suffering.
The saying by Nietzche "what does not kill us makes us stronger" always reigns true. Life is a process of becoming stronger and greater, and suffering is a means towards that.
I would like the reader to realize as well, that as the title of this short note I'm writing suggests, successful men do things because they think they HAVE to.
Just like you only stop jerking off and playing video games only when you quite literally have to work, successful individuals believe they HAVE to do the things they do.
Why? A variety of causes, but the effect is the same. Some men have childhood abuse, a form of PTSD, they are haunted by the past and constantly searching for revenge, so their trauma actually is motivation and a constant desire to overcome the past, which none of us can do, the past being out of reach, the present being all we have, and the future just a dream. Think of David Goggins running for no reason in the desert and this starts to make sense.
Other men have intelligence, or intellect, which makes them have a stronger sense of imagination, and this strong, vivid imagination allows them to picture themselves in circumstances that they definitely don't want to be in. They can clearly picture where they will be in 10 years if they don't work on something right now, right here, so they get to work with another dream in mind of a better reality, if they do just get to work in the moment. Their vivid imagination giving them the ability to picture a hell and a heaven, and working hard in the moment to find themselves in that heaven only.
If you want to be successful, or rather, if you want to be able to work hard in the moment for the future, I advise you to picture vividly your goal and imagine yourself if you do or don't do certain actions right now. Whatever you can imagine, can become your reality.
And if you fail? You tried. And you find yourselves right amongst the people who didn't try at all, only you are stronger than them.
But let us succeed.
