sauna, weightlifting, sprints. they all increase cortisol. one of the good things about sugar is that it reduces cortisol. i was thinking i should probably have some sugar after these activities.

thing is idk how much would be too much or even if it’s a good idea. idk how it’ll effect my testosterone. i was thinking some dates and raw honey. maybe some berries or greek yogurt too, idk. but i also know that pairing carbs/sugar wirh some fat can help stop a big insulin spike. so eating a little cheese just before or after the fruit may help. but then even some sources say an insulin spike is good after a workout. i have no idea. i just know that high cortisol and insulin spikes aren’t good for testosterone. i’m still unsure about sugar

sugar spikes your glucose which promotes fat storage.
eat a meal high in carbohydrates and cholosterol

Before is way better, but either way it can suffice.

I dont know how bad these cortisol spikes are, but anyway, I just opt to smoke post-workout or catch some sun. I think the cortisol from training and cardio is almost nothing if you have bad sleep. I'm probably talking shit.

bro why does sleep matter in this context😭😭 i kinda get what you are saying about the smoke and sun stuff though

i mean complex carbs*. simple carbs like sugar will spike your insulin levels as opposed to a slow gradual increase which is better (depending on your goal )
my goal is testosterone. i want to reduce my cortisol post workout but don’t want to spike my insulin

Bro cortisol after a gym session its normal and its a natural reaction of the body that cant be stopped dont wory about that. The spike of cortisol after a marathon is bad but if you train hypertrophy it simply dont matter. Btw take fruits before working out to feel energetic, as post workout meal cheese is perfect good aminoacid profile and good fats

there are many other ways to decrease cortisol

meditation, hot bath, walking, listening to music, even to fap tbh
but sauna increases your cortisol. maybe because it’s too hot. so a warm shower after a workout could help, maybe deep breathing at the same time?
