He jumped from the 39th floor of a high-rise building and crashed into a parked car.Eyewitnesses were reminded of a superhero movie: When 22-year-old music student Thomas Magill jumped from the 39th floor of an apartment building on Tuesday, he actually intended to end his life.

But Magill landed not on the asphalt, but on a red 2008 Dodge Charger, as the New York Daily News reported on Wednesday. The parked car cushioned his fall so strongly that the suicidal student survived with several broken bones.
