If you really want to skinmax, you HAVE TO use sunscreen. Otherwise, all the actions and precautions you take will be useless. You must build your skin care routine around suncreen. You can use retinols, hydroquinone etc. as long as you use sunscreen. You need to apply it everyday and re-apply it every 2 hours until the sun goes down. Sunscreen really influences your skin quality and restores your original skin tone but that's only true when you wash it off your face. It's a looksmax as you wash it off, but you have to wear it all day long otherwise it's not effective at all. You have to wear it 4 seasons, 365 day. A hat can never replace sunscreen. When it's on my face, it either makes my face look greasy, as if I applied olive oil on my face or it makes me look like I put yogurt on it depending on the type of the sunscreen. Even those which claim to be invisible make it look really greasy. It gets into my eyes and hair as well. Plus, I can grow a full beard and it looks good on my face. You have to apply sunscreen even on areas there is facial hair. It makes me look like there is yogurt or oil on my beard. I'm not ethnic, (not being disrespectful towards them) I have a relatively fair skin tone as an ethnically Balkan man but even the white creamy forms don't match with my skin.

matrixyl doesn't have the skin sensitivity problems that retinol has, but it's not as effective long term, short term it's slightly better in my experience though.

I just use a moisturiser with 50spf instead of an actual sunblock/sunscreen, it doesn't seem to leave my face greasy like regular sunscreen does

you probably have skin like me that produces a lot of oil, natural moisturizer. The two creams that still give me a good and matte look are:

- la roche posay (the one in the square hard shell pack, the one in the tube gives me oily skin)

- Paula's Choice Resist Anti-Aging day cream SPF 30 (sadly not in 50 SPF)

most sunscreens are garbage, you have to pay minimum 20€ for a decent sunscreen

complete cap, sunscreen is toxic longterm and if you cut out veggies you won't have any troubles with sunburn etc
