I was checking the wikipedia page for "Swimming World Swimmers of the Year"

No, the main reason why swimmers or anybody who competes in a sport are not as aesthetic as models is because they are judged on their performance in their sport, not their looks. The one who wins the most medals in the olympics is not the most good looking, but the best one at his sport in a certain period of time.
