Just another grifter spewing illogical orthotropic theory and "muh habits" jfl, moron knows fuckall about craniofacial development or genetic growth pathways and instead chooses the appeal to nature. He cant even properly line up a face in the correct plane for an accurate comparison, much less explain why some babies have different facial ratios than others. Hes about on the same level of spreading bullshit as mike mew tbh

how else do you explain the lack of malocclusions in men until the 1600s?

Humans needed jaws that could fit all 32 teeth and that were robust enough to provide enough force for chewing tough foods. Those with smaller jaws got less nutrition and impacted teeth, which could become lethally infected back then. They were naturally selected out of the population pretty early on. We also had better nutrition of course, which gave us a healthier hormone profile and development. When we started eating soft foods and invented dentistry, humans with smaller jaws were able to survive just as much as those with bigger jaws, and that's why we have more of these traits again now.

Obviously a poor development can give you skeletal malocclusion, just like it can stunt growth of other bones, but to say that everybody has the potential to have excellent jaws is just delusional, you can have perfect habits but hold poor genetics for craniofacial development in our 21st century civilization

doesn’t this create a minimal impact on jaw growth anyway

Wdym? Im not saying chewing or mewing or whatever gave early humans better jaws, Im saying they were born with good jaw genetics that allowed them to chew properly

No, what you eat matters as far as nutrition, you can end up recessed and short if you are malnourished, but as far as mechanical force it basically doesnt matter
