idk, everyone acts shocked every time it happens, but ive been involved in and watching combat sports all my life and honestly i cant call it rare, even if its uncommon. a "height advantage" is really a misconception. The important advantage in striking is reach, and sometimes the shorter fighter has an almost identical reach to his opponent who is significantly taller. Conor Mcgregor for example, has above average reach at flyweight, lightweight and its only welterweight where his reach starts to come closer to the average. There was a recent matchup in the UFC where people kept dribbling absolute shit about how much "bigger" this one guy was (darren till)... he had a whopping 2 inches in height and an awesome HALF INCH in reach advantage. Yet they were talking about the matchup like it was jon jones bullying a 10 year old or something. then he gets knocked the fuck out and everyone pretends they saw it coming, jfl
