I found it interesting how dreams seem to work. I only had this dream for a couple of hours because my dad woke me up, and then I went back to sleep.

The dream was about me being back in the education system, and for context, I’ve been NEET for the past year. What stood out most was how happy I felt being around other people again. It was fascinating because in the dream I genuinely felt happy to be back there, even though some of the things happening were strange and unrealistic.

Without writing an essay about everything that happened, what interests me most is how closely dreams relate to everyday life. In the dream, when the day of education finished, I remember thinking, “That was such a good day, I can’t wait to go home and write about it on the forum.”

Even on the way home in the dream, I had those McDonald's coupons they’ve been giving out recently, and I thought maybe I should get some McDonald's to celebrate. Then I realised I didn’t have the coupons in my wallet, which is exactly true in real life because they’re all at home.

That’s what makes it feel so wild. Even while unconscious, my brain still carried over details from reality and built them into a completely fictional day that never happened. I wasn’t actually in education, I didn’t live that day, yet in the dream it felt fully real. Even subconsciously I was already thinking about going home and writing about it on the forum. It’s fascinating how the mind does that.
The irony of it is the fact that I did still write about it on the form, which is real, but I was going to do it in the fictional dream anyway.
