Tan or pale skin for brown coloring?

I have brown hair and brown eyes, but pitch black eyebrows and lashes.

Should I be trying to get tan skin or pale skin to contrast with my dark features?

You kinda can though as long as your not black or brown by just either tanning/mt2 or using skin whitening products
