Why would it matter?

I myslef use tret in the evenings (not atm because my skin is a bit sensitive), and If I wanted to would tan throughout the day although im not a person who enjoys tanning I dont quite understand why you would be required to pick between the two?

tret makes your skin more sensitive to uv rays

it is myth. there was a research done before. actually research shows tret make skin resist more to uv rays. @TsarTsar444 he knows maybe

Yeah thats what I've read I thought it improve resilience to UV rays long term, in the short term it does make you more sensitive but after a bit of use it starts improving.

Also if it is the case that it does increase sensitivity why not just use sunscreen?

of i will use sunscreen after tret. but just asking for now. i have never done skin care in my life

Dont tan unless you want to be an incel

@Gargantuan says he goes off tret, tans for a few days, then goes back to using sun protection. I personally think using Melanotan 2 is the best option tbh

it's not.
From the studies I have read it shows indications that tret doesnt cause any phototoxic or photoallergenic reactions so it shouldn’t increase sensitivity.
(Thats not the case short term as your skin will have increase shedding which will make it slightly thin which will increase sensitivity with UV but from what it seems after 3-6 months once thickness is restored the UV sensitivity should be resolved.)

Yeah definetly use sunscrean thats a foundational building block of all routines you should be using that every morning atleast.

It just causes it at the beginning cause tret damages the skin barrier at first, this is why skin can feel slighty tingling and even burning if you over do tret, but after few months your skin has adjusted to it so with enough moisturizer you shouldn't get sun damage more then a normal person.

And yeah i spent 4 hours outside between 11am-3pm (at least 1.5 hours of direct sun hitting my non tanned face) and i didn't get burned one bit which shocked me honestly cause its only been 1 month on tret

Misinterpreted your post, just wear sunscreen and you can still go outside with tret

waterproof sunscreen? sweat proof

MT2 and tret can definitely work well together, at least from my experience. I don't use sunscreen anymore and I actually noticed that my skin looks the best if I apply tret the night before and get some sun/tan the next day.

My skin appears to look more radiant if I tan for a bit the day after applying tret

Why are you tanning if you're brown?
