But isn’t Telegram not anymore safely, since the founder of it got arrested by FBI and convinced him to sell the people’s data, and you have to put your phone number to register . Maybe I’m mixing something up

Yeah, but isn’t the IP address the same? I think many apps can detect if you are using TOR browser or not and sending you a warning of deactivating it before entering the site or app.
