Why it matters
Benefits:
Explanation:
Most people focus on masseter size, but facial growth is influenced more by force direction.
When temporalis contracts it elevates and retracts the mandible upward and backward.
This vector differs from forward masseter clenching. Repeated upward posterior force pulls the mandible toward the cranial base and biases mandibular posture upward, reducing downward rotation tendency during growth.

Temporalis Training
What to do:
Benefits:
- Controls mandibular posture
- Influences facial growth direction
- Supports CCW rotation

Temporalis Training
What to do:
- Open the mouth slightly and bite lightly on the molars.
- Place thumb on the masseter and fingers on the temporalis.
- Do not bite hard to avoid activating the masseters
- Shift the lower jaw slightly backward and upward, never forward.
- Adjust bite angle until the masseter stays relaxed and the temporalis activates.
- Repeat short sessions to build mind-muscle connection.
MOST EFFECTIVE AT 12-18
MOST ACTIVE CRANIOFACIAL GROWTH PERIOD
(Chewing should me avoided) Tempolaris dominant
Dominant massater cause downward growth
