Picture a man. He lives in Thailand/Vietnam/Cambodia/Phillipines. He has a fishing boat which he works on. He maybe makes $1,000 per year but that is enough to live on where he is. He is of a healthy BMI. At his job he gets sunlight and fresh fish . He goes home to his neighbourhood where everyone looks like him and gives some of the fish to his family (he has a family, a thin dutiful wife and a son and daughter or two) and soon he will be teaching his son how to fish.
Now picture Dave in the UK. He is fat. He goes from his house to garage to car to office and back again never once being outside. He has either no family or a fat argumentative wife and one son with developmental issues from BPAs and heavy metals. He gets 2hrs of sleep a night due to a financial hole he has dug himself into just to have a basic house and life. His neighbourhood is full of Romanians, Albanians and Indians. His son is molested by drag teachers but if he says anything he will be lose his job (which he hates and which makes him ill).
The decoupling between economic growth and wellbeing is complete. The Eastern man is content while the Western man is bloated on artificial debt-driven wealth and Greggs.
