If you know the streamer named Duke Dennis, you’ll notice that a lot of women are drawn to him, and many of them don’t even know why. They just know other women want him. This is called the bandwagon effect. The bandwagon effect is a cognitive bias where people do something or adopt a belief simply because they see others doing it. The more people who adopt a behavior or reference, the more likely others are to join, regardless of whether it makes sense to them personally or not. Another example is a famous NBA player named LeBron James. Even though he’s not the prettiest guy out there, he’s married and older. Yet some women, even the ones in relationships or married themselves, will let him hit for free if he allows them. No, did he? But his bandwagon effect is so crazy that some men will even let him hit. This effect is often intentionally triggered to manipulate desires. For example, being seen with attractive women can give you more credibility around more women. As you use money to get more money, you can also use women to get more women. This works because women want what other women want, especially when it comes to love, status, or scarcity. And by appearing already chosen, you tap into this psychological bias, and women feel pulled to join the bandwagon even if they don’t fully know why.
