This is only common amongst western born Muslims. Go to Muslim countries and it's a different picture. In fact they don't even want someone to marry someone from another village or clan never mind same race JFL.

Muslims in the West have no other option but to marry with other Muslims of different race given they are a minority. Otherwise they sometimes arrangemarriagemaxxx back at home depending on how in touch they are with their own culture or how over it is as 30+ year old with no options.

This is because of the concept of kafa'ah. This allows the father to decide who his child should marry and, he can therefore decide to not marry his child to someone outside his race, someone who doesn't speak his language, skin color and more... basically it is his preference.
