This is pretty water to the biology dudes, but somehow I couldn't find an organized guide on this site about it.

As almost everyone here knows, adipose tissue is the scientific name for fat tissue. Adipose tissue disproportionately produces more of the aromatase enzyme than other tissues. The aromatase enzyme is the enzyme by which 80% of a male's estrogen is produced. Aromatization is the process where that enzyme converts testosterone into estrogen.

As one's fat stores increase, he becomes more estrogenic. Increased serum estrogen levels cause 2 things to happen to fat organization:
1. Future fat will be stored in increasingly feminine areas(glutes & thighs)
2. (To a lesser extent) Fat will become redistributed to feminine fat storage areas over time
Guess what else estrogen does? Promote fat storage in general. In general, you will have more subcutaneous fat if you have higher estrogen levels. In addition, less fats flowing in one's blood will be oxidized if one has higher estrogen levels. This applies to both consumed fats(source) and bodily fat(aka adipose tissue).
As one becomes more estrogenic, their pelvis will be surrounded by more and more fat. As you can guess, this will estrogenize the pelvis, even in males

There will be a copeout in this thread going "it's all genetics." No, it's not "all genetics." How many women with wide hips had wide hips before puberty, at age 5? That number is 0. Look at any man with actually wide hips. Every single one of them underwent a fat/skinnyfat/weight loss transformation. Although not every man will have a pelvis as small as the one in @Orc's profile picture, no man with high testosterone levels and low estrogen levels their whole lives will have a wide pelvis.

This is water, but there are two steps:
1. Hormonal:
Get to 13% bf to nuke your estrogen levels
Start testmaxxing
2. Physical:
Everyone here knows about Wolff's law(don't worry I'm not telling you to bonesmash). Since healthy bones will remodel under tension, we can simply stress our pelvises until they shrink. Applying physical stress to the pelvis 24/7 will cause it to shrink بإذن الله.
Basically, just wear an elastic resistance band ON YOUR HIPBONE AND NOT YOUR WAIST all day and all night.

A woman's pelvis after giving birth will be wider than normal. If you google "closing the pelvis," you will get results from many, many medical websites saying that people should just do pelvic floor exercises. The reason this works for them is because of the elevated relaxin levels, which contribute to the flexibility of bones. Relaxin is very, very expensive and has been linked to an increased cancer risk. If you optimize your hormones, it should not be necessary(assuming you're in puberty). If you're rich and impatient, I guess you can risk cancer lol.

@Jason Voorhees @cavy idrk I just saw your questions about hip size

So youre saying the reason my hips are wider than my clavicles are because I didnt leanmax when I was 13

If you have avg/wide clavicles and your hips are still wider, the only possible cause is excess estrogen.

Since before puberty? And by wide do you mean wider than your waist when lean?

Were you over 18-20% bf as a kid? Are your test levels optimal?

Thanks bhai

rep me tho(thanks)
i never reached more than 20% as a kid
test levels are fine, slightly lateish puberty

my dad doesnt has wide hips, my mom does, maybe it was genetics? or im just coping and i just convert too much e2

Hmm? Did you learn that your t levels are fine by guessing or from bloodwork?

If it's from bloodwork, you should have known your e1,2,&3.

guessing
they dont do endocryne bloodworks here in spain, i need to pay
but i never had any big estrogen sides, no gyno, no big fat storage around ass/hips, so i realy dont understand why i got hips

Also, I just realized that prenatal estrogen could play a role in
1. Fat distribution
2. Pelvis size

Not everyone starts at square one

Wide hips are literally good on men. Narrow hips make u look weak and almost effeminate.

water but also good for denialcels who think being fat is good for “muh nutrition is law” during growth phases

bro, mechanical tension on the hips will make the hipbone thicker you bum

Ngl my hips were huge at like 13 skinny fat then I got lean muscle and lost fat and now I have wide shoulders and the gym oldheads say I have a gay feminine waist now

i got fat at 13 and my waist is still tiny. how your body reacts to estrogen probably matters more

What on planet Earth? Is that why the ideal male physique is an hourglass?

I wouldn't mind increased thickness if it came with reduced size.

Estrogen did its damage. If you're still in puberty, you should be able to testmaxx and use those elastic bands.

Btw, it also depends on how long you stayed fat.
how your body reacts to estrogen probably matters more
Yes, that's important. However, this post is probably true for most people.

Nope it’s genetics, I was fat AF almost all childhood and my hips aren’t wide (not super narrow but not wide)

Your gymbros called your small hips feminine?
Nope it’s genetics
Like @stufftodo said, your body's genetic and epigenetic sensitivity to estrogen absolutely does matter here. If your pelvis has average sensitivity to estrogen, however, my post applies.

They use to be wide at 13 now I get called slutty
80% sure if I didn’t get lean at that time and stayed skinny fat they’d be even wider
My lats being placed to almost my Airpits also play a part though I think

btw will just say your point still stands even if the guy had no sensitivity, your hips will still be slightly wider than if you weren't fat
