What is coloring?
If you've been in this community for a while, or even more than a few weeks, feel free to skip this section.
Coloring refers to the overall palette of your features, your skin tone, hair color, lip color & eye color, and how they work together.
I’ve added an example using a friend of mine below, creating a palette of colors from his face.
Being able to visualize a palette like this is nice to have on hand, although its clearly visible based on first glance.


Coloring can impact how striking & sometimes how masculine you look, higher contrast features will give off a more striking & masculine look,
while lower contrast features will give a less intimidating and submissive look.
I need to clarify, bones will do more work than coloring when it comes to how masculine you look, but coloring sure as hell helps.
Above I’ve included men with different coloring, neither are considered insanely attractive, so coloring plays a large role in the difference of attractiveness/masculinity between these two.

Understanding Contrast
Contrast is the difference between your natural colors: hair, skin, and eyes.
– High contrast: striking differences between features
– Low contrast: colors are closer together and blend more
Having low contrast can affect your dimorphism a lot, affecting how masculine you look & how intimidating others find you.
Low Contrast

Here I’ve included people of different phenotypes, with a low contrast level,
you can see in Example #1 that the man has dark hair, dark skin & dark eyes, and in Example #2 the man has light skin, light hair & light eyes.
Medium Contrast

Now I’ve included two photos of men with medium contrast, Example #1 has medium-dark skin, with dark eyes & hair, Example #2 has white skin, but has light brown hair, and brown eyes. Majority of people in the world fit into this category of having medium contrast, you’ll see people with coloring depicted above nearly everywhere you go, meaning that while it’s not considered a bad thing to have medium contrast, its not considered a good thing either.
High Contrast

Above I’ve depicted a man with high contrast, dark hair & eyebrows paired with icy blue eyes, on light skin. The coloring combo depicted above is regarded as “perfect” by many users due to it being the highest contrast you can have while still looking appealing (a black man with blonde hair & ice blue eyes would have higher contrast, but its unrealistic and unappealing)
The ideal coloring is usually a combination that creates the most striking and balanced contrast without looking unnatural, this makes your face look more appealing, and is generally an amazing feature to have.

Your goal should be to have medium-high contrast, high contrast is usually never a bad thing but in some rare cases can look bad.

Optimizing Your Coloring

Optimizing: Hair
The color of your hair determines a very significant amount of your appearance, and should also determine the colors of clothes you wear, and why you wear them.
For a majority of the white-skinned users on this forum, dyeing your hair to brown, dark brown or black from blonde or light brown will instantly ascend you. I’ve created a morph below to depict this, If you aren’t HTN+ then theres no real reason for you to have blonde hair

“But girls on tiktok say they love blonde haired men!”
No, they like htns who just happen to have blonde hair.
If you do plan on rocking blonde hair regardless of me telling you not to,
then having darker colored eyebrows is a necessity (even the blond htn+’s don’t deny this)

You can dye both your hair and eyebrows using the exact same hair dye, go to any supermarket and they’ll have it.
If you dye your eyebrows, I’d suggest leaving the dye on for around 30% of the amount the package suggests for your hair, if you don’t do this then the hair dye will dye the skin behind your eyebrows aswell, making your eyebrows look ethnic and a lot darker than they should be (unless you want this to happen, then be my guest)
You can usually get rid of that effect after a few showers though, assuming you wash your face.

Optimizing: Eyes
Your eye color is for the most part there forever, unless you want to get stroma (laser eye surgery, theres another guide on what this is and how to determine if you want to get it or not in the BOTB).
If you have dark brown eyes, consider growing out your eyelashes, having a black hairs near your eyes can in contrast make your dark brown eyes seem a little bit lighter, it won't be super significant but it is noticeable. You can grow your eyelashes out by using Latisse or Oral Minoxidil, ( I recommend the latter )
[ P.S. Using mascara is an amazing quick fix, but can affect the curlyness of your eyelashes long-term ]
There are guides about eye lightening aswell using tons of formulas, but from personal experience its far too complicated for the “result” (usually placebo) that you get, every “natural” eye color changing method that isnt laser or surgery is somewhat cope.
What you can do however is use colored contacts to fraud your eye color, keep in mind that keeping colored contacts in daily will irritate your eyes.
(they irritated mine, depending on the quality of contacts you get you might experience similar results)
Here’s some tips to consider if you do decide to go down the colored contact route though:
- If you have purple/blue eyebags, remember that blue contacts can make your eyebags stand out even more.

Base your contacts off your skin tone, look at your skin and compare it with this, is your skin more golden/warm, or is it white/pale?
If your skin is in the golden/warm category, hazel & brown eyes will suit your coloring more.
If your skin is in the white/pale category, green, blue & grey eyes will usually suit your coloring more.

Optimizing: Skin

Say hello to Eumelanin & Pheomelanin, the two main types of Melanin that control the color of your skin, hair & eyes.
Eumelanin gives brown to black tones and provides more UV protection, while Pheomelanin gives red to yellow tones and is less protective against the sun.
The balance between these two determines your natural coloring and contrast.
When you're out in the sun trying to tan, your melanocytes respond to UV exposure by producing more Eumelanin as a response to the exposure.
If you're blond, tanning is extremely important to help with your contrast. There are many users on this forum that see Blond hair & Tan skin as the ideal.
Now here are your two options when it comes to optimizing your skin tone:
If you have blond/white hair, you want to get tan.
If you have black/brown hair, you want to stay white.
This can, of course vary, individual preferences & skin undertone's will determine what you should do

How to tan properly

Nowadays with influencers promoting tanning beds & products everywhere, tanning improperly is really easy if you don't know what you're doing.
You can end up accelerating how much you age, increase your risk of skin cancer significantly & so on.
How to develop a healthy & good looking tan:
DIET: Carotenoids (carrots, sweet potatoes), Vitamin C (Oranges, Citrus etc.), Omega-3's (Salmon, mackerel, walnuts)
Hydrating yourself & your skin while you tan is important aswell, aim for 2-3 Liters to keep your skin in good condition & avoid dehydrating yourself.
The safest windows to have any sun exposure & avoid the roughest UV rays are between 8-10am & 4-6pm.
(But to be honest, you'll be fine regardless of what time you tan, just keep this in mind if your schedule is flexible)
Having 3-5 sessions of 15-30 minutes in direct sun exposure per week with SPF 40+ sunscreen.
Things you should avoid:
Tanning Beds | Artificial UV from the beds increases skin cancer significantly
Peak UV Hours | 10am - 4pm are usually peak UV hours, and have the strongest rays, makes you age & increases cancer risk
Dehydration | Letting your skin dry out as you expose yourself to the sun can be insanely harmful
Rushing your tan | Achieving a healthy tan will take you a few days, trying to sit in the sun with sunscreen on for 8 hours is a horrible idea.
How to "untan"

Fading a tan:
This is pretty simple & self explanatory:
Stay indoors & avoid extended periods of exposure to the sun
Wear long sleeve clothes, use broad-spectrum SPF 40+ on your entire body, especially face.
Wear sunglasses, hats and more physical barriers between you and the sun.
Mild scurbs in showers or using light chemical scrubs (AHA/BHA) a few times a week can help remove the top tanned layer of your skin.
Moisturize daily to keep your skin plump
Vitamin C for collagen synthesis & damage healing
Vitamin K helps with minor skin discoloration
Retinoids/Carotenoids promotes cell repair
Amino acids from protein-rich foods are the building blocks for skin repair (collagen & elastin)
If you eat a balanced diet, then you don't really have to focus on the dietary part.
Avoiding a tan:
This is identical to the message above, Mild scrubs will simply get rid of any early stages of tanning.

Optimizing: Lips

If you look at women who use makeup, you’ll quickly notice the intensity of their red lipstick, this is because even they understand the importance of contrast & health indicators. (the redness almost always looks unnatural, but my point stands.)
Red/Pink-ish full lips have long been tied to improving your health indicators, subconsciously making people more attracted to you.
What you HAVE to start implementing in your routines:
Lip Scrubbing (While brushing your teeth, you can use your toothbrush to scrub some dead skin, or use harsher scrubs to get rid of all your dead skin)
Lip Balm & SPF for lips will help keep your lips plump at literally all time, women do notice how 'kissable' your lips are,
and they shittalk crusty lips to all their friends alot.
Many users on this forum use bb cream to try and cover up their eyebags, you can use some similar logic and invest in tinted balms, It's not lipstick directly so you can't be fully called gay, and you can always play it off as it being a "flavored" balm. Tinted balms can make your lips redder, while still looking natural, increasing your facial contrast fully.
Along with tinted lip balms, plumping lip balms are also great for thin-ish lips, or even just uneven ones.

Lip filler (500-1500$) is also a solution if your lips are too thin to affect your coloring, but filler migrates and has to be re-done every few months/years.
Getting a lipflip (80-300$) done is an alternative, but do personal research before deciding for either, its a form of botox which makes the muscles in your lips move out & upwards, making them seem fuller.

Optimizing: Style
Your seasonal color palette should 100% determine what you wear.
Wearing colors from your palette will instantly ascend your outfits and compliment your face so much, I know everyone on here is gonna bitch about how “style is cope, just be chad” but realistically everyone who says that is sub60iq and close-minded.
Style matters a lot, it affects your social status, and having good social status is a super important halo when talking to women (if you’re popular more women will want you, duh)
Here’s how you can determine the palette you should have:
Check your undertone:
Cool undertones: Skin has pink, red, or blue hues. Veins appear blue or purple. Silver jewelry looks better than gold.
Warm undertones: Skin has yellow, golden, or peach hues. Veins appear green. Gold jewelry looks better than silver.
Hair and eye color:
Dark hair + light skin + bright eyes > Winter.
Light hair + light skin + soft eyes > Summer.
Red, auburn, or golden hair + warm skin > Autumn.
Light golden hair + warm skin + bright eyes > Spring.
Additional things that I’ve tried myself:
Grab different colors & tones of clothes, hold them up to your face in a mirror, and check if they brighten your face, or if it dulls some colors of your face out, this isn’t as effective as choosing up there
If you're tan, wearing a grey or light blue shirt/tanktop will ascend you, I'm putting this on @Copercel 's LIFE

Another thing I’ve noticed is how jewelry can enhance your contrast.
Wearing jewelry that matches your eye color makes your eyes stand out more, drawing attention to the entire eye area & making it more striking.
The same principle applies to your overall seasonal palette, Jewelry in colors that fit your palette will naturally highlight your features
(P.S. Earrings aren’t gay. Simple studs or small pendants are already normalized and widely accepted.)

Optimizing: Facial Hair
(I'm personally against facial hair & shave regularly)
Facial hair can change your coloring and contrast dramatically.
It can strengthen your jawline, frame your features, and make you look older or more masculine.
But patchy growth will backfire and soften your look.
Your facial hair should generally always match your hair color (unless blond).
Having no facial hair at all will always be better than having patchy garbage facial hair, patchy hair makes you look low T & softens your entire face.
(Keep in mind, everyone will have to go through a rough phase going from 0-100 facial hair, if your hair is stuck on the patchy phase, consider the guide below)
Growing your facial hair

Minoxidil (Topical/Oral):
The most proven method for beard growth. Consistent use over months can help fill ur beard in
Microneedling:
Rolling your skin with a derma roller/stamp (0.5–1.0mm) stimulates collagen and improves circulation
Hormones:
The most common reason for a patchy beard is cucked test levels, sleep 8-9 hours a day, eat properly & live a healthy lifestyle (or consider just taking test)
Dyeing your facial hair

Color Match:
Always match your beard dye to your head hair color. Darker shades can look fake if your hair is lighter.
NOTE:
Now, that being said. I do not recommend ANYBODY to grow a whole beard, this usually ages you like fucking crazy and in my opinion looks bad, use the tips above to grow your facial hair, then style it according to your face shape.
If you've got a tall skull, a goatee can almost never look bad on you

Long/tall face > avoid long beards (makes face even longer)
Round/wide face > short sides, more length at chin to sharpen proportions
Strong jawline > stubble or short beard enhances definition
Weak jawline > fuller beard can mask lack of structure, but keep neckline clean
For most men, a full beard will age you 5-10 years, don't grow one unless ur insanely recessed
