The church was partially right to teach the masses that the earth was flat. There was a sense of psychological humility that came with it.

- What falls can't get back up.
- what you loose won't return
- The lost youth won't get back

With this in mind people would teach their children better understanding that is more fit for the brutalliry of life. All this round earth nonesene made the masses softer and more stupid each day, thinking that the 'roundness' of earth would let them find their lost youth, lost people, lost love get back to them.
