our imagination is so limited, we base our thoughts or maybe even if we try creating something new in our minds it’ll look like something we’re all already familiar with
try imagining a new creature nobody discovered, it’ll likely look like something or a mix of things you already know
the fact there’s creatures out there that we never discovered and probably are beyond our imagination even, because their physical traits and proportions and features overall have never been seen or talked about by us
a good example of this is when people try to imagine aliens, they all have a humanoid kind of look in movies and shit. mermaids, humanoid. fairies, humanoid. and then ofc other creatures we made up which usually take shape as somewhat human, or another animal we already known. nothing new
