It makes sense why God would give humans the ability to sin.

But why would he create a world that incentivizes evil? That part doesn’t make sense.

He could’ve created a world that incentivized people to be good. But instead he made one that rewards evil.

That’s doesn’t make sense and can’t be explained with “muh freewill” cause both people in these world would have freewill.

Free will is not biblical. The world incentivised evil because God gave the world to the devil, and so following earthy desires is to follow his will while following heavenly desires is to follow Gods will. We are incentivised to be good because we find fulfilment with our spirit through good works, which are by the way caused by our faith and His grace to let us be spiritually reborn. You cannot make a dead spirit be fulfilled. Tell me, how is evil rewarded on this earth? For it is solely with the earth. This is what God is telling us by giving the devil the earth. If you follow earthly desires you will be left with earthly things you don't really care about: money you can't use, sex with people you don't remember or care about, physical illness because of overindulging in crappy food. Ask yourself, what is the price of your soul?

We will never know the intentions of a god, therefore we can only theorize. An ant won’t know what a human has in mind

He didnt, devil does

He just allows it to happen but doesnt want it to happen

Its your choice to do evil things at the end, he created our bodies to different porpuses but we corrupted it with sin

If you read the Bible its pretty straightfoward

God was lonely

God created people and created both good and evil as the ultimate antagonistic forces to entertain himself by feeling emotions as a reaction to our actions - anger, love, sadness, joy

Its literally just Supernatural's plot

Of course there are other interpretations

Mainlander's: god roped. We are his decaying corpse.

No, but you wont have a human body anymore so you wont feel tempted.

Also your spirit will be 100% pure and you will be close to God, you wont feel the necessity to sin.

Tbh mainlander's cosmogony is pretty epic and tragic. But its still underutilized imo in fiction.

Like as far as I remember only Evangelion did a pretty weak/vague nod to it with Lilith the origin of humans being a comatose giant white humanoid blob staked to a cross. Its a pretty weak connection though (they probably relate mostly because both mainlander and EVA are inspired by Christianism)

what do you mean you won’t have a human body? the bible says everyone will get a mansion and that the roads will be made of gold. you sleep in a mansion and walk on gold with a human body no?

also why can’t he just make our souls 100 percent pure here?

if our souls are 100 percent pure would that even be us anymore or a different person? we would lose all sense of humanity if we are just robots who worship god pls explain rn

Yeah, following a machiavellian framework generally always leads to success. Just extreme self-importance and the will to use or destroy everyone around you. You don't get anything for being honest. :Comfy:

I disagree w the free will argument but i dont think this is necessarily a valid counterpoint

You cant just read the bible like this, you have context and you have to interpret the text.

Just as hell says its going to be a firey place but also dark? Doesnt make logical sense.

It means hell will be bad, not that it will have fire or darkness

Same as heaven, it means it will be really good not that will have mansions and things like that.

And even God without a human body rested on the 7 day, so why wouldnt we anyways?

If he does our souls 100% pure with a human body then free will doesnt exist, because even if my body wanted to sin, my soul wouldnt allow it and therefore no free will.

Our souls will be pure NOT because he did it pure but because we choose to it to be pure.

The main reason why you wont sin in heaven is not by free will or something, its because you will feel so overwhelmed with love and happiness that you wont even have the necessity to do it. You wont need cheap dopamine nor sex nor anything, because you will experience true happiness and love.

The main point is: you will have free will, but you wont need to sin nor want it.

You go to heaven if you have a truly loving relationship with God, so why would you want upset him in heaven?

Also the devil wont be there, so you wont even be tempted to sin.

why would god specifically use the world “mansion” and “gold streets” to describe what is basically just a good place? why is this analogy so specific?

the same reasons pastors here do it everyday because the rules are strict and i find it hard to believe that in all of eternity not ONE person out of millions would not sin based off their own choice surely someone would get bored.

again, why not just do that here? and this still does not make sense as a lot of sins are so easy to commit and just human nature. this is just one reason why the bible is illogical

Sceptical theism is self-defeating and if anything, a reason to not be a theist.

this is the best argument when people cope with god allowing evil. muh why would god allow x, y, and z

my devil's advocate response to op is that the world incentivizes evil because it is inhabited by evil people. good people don't tolerate evil, they just cast it into hell. we have too few good people and mostly stupid/evil people

Because these are good things everyone wish for, therefore heaven is good, nobody, even John who saw heaven could properly explain it

We as humans are sinners, theres no one morally perfect (just Jesus), and if they willingfully sin, they arent true christians anyways so its not relevant for the discussion

Another thing, in matthew its stated that a lot were called but few were choosen, so this 1 million number is based of nothing regardless (notice how the bible explains pretty much everything)

You dont have boredoom on heaven because you will be close to God and God is love and happiness

And even if you wanted to sin, you didnt actually repent and had a relationship with God regardless, so you wouldnt even be in heaven anyways

The illogical bible explains this also!
Earth was supposed to be this, but humans corrupted it with sin (eating the prohibited fruit) and now God isnt close enough to the earth anymore to the point its all happiness and love

Yes sins are easy to commit I agree, but you can repent and follow God. Its not just boohoo you said a slur now you are going to hell

No, you can still repent
