That depends on where you hire your work from. Companies these days focus more on code quality than code output. They are looking efficiency. There is shift toward automation, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cloud computing so you need a different skill set from the one you required say 10-15 years ago. Code monkeys are no longer needed. Theh have been replaced by AI. Only 10% of what software devs these days do is coding. This is one of the reasons why entry level job openings for traditional software roles are few and far between. These things reuqire more varied skills
