Rome was a true civilization the "Empire" from star wars was inspired from Rome it was this massive empire that spanned Europe Africa and Asia that was indirectly involved through all of the world. It last 1000 years and indirectly through offshoots lasted even longer one could argue it never ended.

The only thing close to it was colonialism but it lasted very short term

Idk I would just say so far no one has mogged Rome. Britian and America are the closest but colonialism was very short lived and Britian cucked itself into oblivion. Germany was close to having a true European empire but that fell apart. No power has been able to be stable and control the world like Rome. I think they were the the closest thing in the past to globalism we have today.
