The relentless pursuit of profit-driven innovation in modern technologically-driven industrial society has had dire consequences for young people. They are trapped by a disillusionment fueled by idolized industrial models exploited by the manipulative forces of the tech industry. The omnipresence of social media further compounds this psychological malaise among the vulnerable. “Looksmaxxing” acts as a superficial and useless distraction, perpetuating the social constructs that have shaped our technological landscape. This only deepens the chasm between true human connections and the hollow promises of technological progress, serving as a deceptive smokescreen in a world teetering on the edge of its own demise. The problems stem from modernity, consumer society, and the dominance of big capital. Disillusioned individuals striving for the idealized model of “beauty” in modern society only serve to further enrich international capital. It’s as if it’s saying, “Great, follow the techno-industrial, consumerist model, surrender your will and power, live by the morality of the weak, and follow the herd.” . They want you to obey. They want you to be a sheep like they are sheep. An obedient, unquestioning piece of machinery. Sit when you’re told to sit, stand when you’re told to stand. They want you to give up your humanity, your autonomy for a salary, a gold star, a bigger TV. The only way to be human, the only way to be free, is to rebel. They will try to crush you. They will use every tactic they have to make you obedient, docile, subservient, but you can’t allow that.
You must be your own master, no matter what. It is better to die as a human than to live as a purposeless cog in his machine.
