Pure capitalism without a welfare state would do a lot more to equalize looks compared to other features in terms of women selecting men. Right now you can be a chad bum, but because of welfare and minimum wage laws keeping low tier jobs higher compensated compared to their utility, and still live a comfortable life. Currently, you can be a leech or non contributing member of society and live in a warm apartment and have food to eat, but imagine if we stopped supporting these people and let their floor be starving in the streets and at the same time compensate high IQ contributors in proportion to their utility, we would see massive income inequality between the sub-120 IQs and 120 IQs. This would be closer to natural selection (losers die, winners reproduce, attractive winners reproduce more), but currently we live in a system of dysgenics, where the lowest IQs reproduce the most.
