People made up this "forward growth"/"downward growth" dichotomy that doesn't really exist.
Look at the sutures of the maxilla:
The maxilla grows downwards/forwards.
For the most part, if you have "downward growth" your face didn't grow downward ENOUGH.
Mewer pics like these are COPE that run contrary to the truth:
and they keep having to move the A point downward in a bizarre caricature which doesn't even look like that kind of skull
your problem isn't that you "grew downward" it's that you didn't grow at all
most of these "downward grown" subhumans would need a downgraft to not have a short face if they had bimax because when it DOES come forward you also see the VERTICAL deficiency, it's just cheated by the fact that it 'swings forward' to an extent and the way the soft tissue overlays on the bone disguises this
yes, some people have more/less forward projection but this is probably a growth pattern which is more a factor of GENETICS - why would a stunted maxilla continue to grow downward but not forward when it grows downward at a 45 degree angle?
