Post :
My son is insanely short for his age. He has always been in the lower percentiles every since he was born. This really bothers me because I know it’s my fault. His father is 6’4 and I’m 5’0. I did this to him! I know it sounds silly and I always tell myself there are so many worse things that could be happening than height. I need to be happy that I have a very healthy sweet little boy. I don’t bring it up to him as he is in kindergarten and I don’t want to give him a complex about it. We all want the best future possible for our kids and I know the world can be tough for a short man with relationships and being taken seriously in the corporate world. This is why this pains me so bad.
Well it happened Friday. He blurted out that he was short and the rest of his class is medium and there was one girl that was the tallest. I thought that was odd so I kept fishing. He told me a little girl in his class said she loved this other little boy because he was tall and not my son because he was short. (Sidenote: why are kindergartners talking about love lolll) Y’all I could have fell out crying right there. I explained to him that height doesn’t matter but was does matter is being nice to people and a good person. He said he understood and moved on to another topic. My heart breaks for him, as the kids get older I’m hoping he can somewhat keep up.
