Why would you willingly cut your bone for a minimal local advancement when you can alter your

1. Ramus height/width
2. Gonial angle
3. Mandible height/width/shape
4. Chin projection/height/width/shape

with a single surgery which is infinitely less invasive?

First fix recession. Then improve jaw mass via implant if still necessary. Slapping an implant on a recessed face will always look like shit. You have to consider teeth show and how the person looks in motion and not only pics. Osteotomies are by far the most natural surgeries lookswise

I am talking specifically about lower jaw surgeries where the patient's maxilla is fine.
Yeah you wouldn't need wraparound implant if your only failo was 2mm chin height but that is just unrealistic. Bad features come in packages and I believe most people would benefit from wraparound instead of coping with chin wings and whatnot.
