Ugliness is viewed as one of the most disgusting traits in a human being. There are many reasons for this, the first reason being that ugliness is a barrier to sexual reproduction and evolutionary advantageous genetics being passed on in the material realm.
If we take an alternative view for a moment, we may be able to come to a very different conclusion. Some people here might automatically write it off as "cope" or whatever, but you must remember: That is because you are still thinking within material reality and what is good for material reality.
If we assume human beings are an eternal essence (a soul) encased in a material bipedal capsule, then it is clear that the goals of these two differing parts of the self will be very different.
Let us take a look at some biblical scripture that may help us in understanding the inherent differences between the ethereal and the material:
Matthew
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
From this, we can see that material existence is Satan's realm. Not God's. This world is material and the material realm is the realm of Satan. Jesus was not tempted by Satan's genuine offer to give all the kingdoms of the earth to the Lord. We must understand two things:
1. The world is Satans to give to whomever he wishes. Therefore, he owns material reality.
2. Jesus was not tempted because material reality is inherently evil. Only the spirit is good.
From this, we can determine two distinctive features of reality:
- The soul's main goal is to return to infinity and eternal creation - God
- The body's main goal is to continue to replicate itself and continue material reality - Satan
Being ugly means that you are incapable of replicating your genetics in material reality which, if we take a biblical view, means that you have been blessed. Your life should therefore be focussed on ascending the material plane, not living for it.
You live in this world but you can choose whether you are of this world. Those are two very different ideas.
