it is almost certain that you will improve as a whole if you are deformed before. but what if u are normal?
for example, in my case I have a recessed chin. and a big nose. but seeing my morphs I would be pretty cool with a rhino and a wing osteotomy + mandible implants. Maybe I would be even more cool with an orthognathic, but what if I don't? and if it gets worse, leave me with a monkey / dog face, worsen the region of the lip and nose that I find so good in me already.
This unpredictability of the procedure is complicated.
