To sum it up, you can equate the eating of the apple to showing a 5 year old child a torture gore video like 3 guys 1 hammer.

Oh, don't you want the child to have KNOWLEDGE bro? Don't you want the child to know what things are REALLY like?

God wanted human beings to understand things at a very slow pace in which little tidbits of information were explored at a time. You can see this by God revealing the animals to Adam one at a time and asking him in his pure simplicity to name them.

Adam was a very simple creature at his inception, much like a child. Children are growing at a rapid rate and they are technically extremely 'high iq' because of their ability to soak up information like a sponge. The worst thing you can do to a creature in that condition, is to flood its brain with bad shit and misdirection. You will perma fuck their brains by showing them how shit 'really works' too early on and too intensely.

People rage at God because of the Genesis story. They say things like 'hurr God just wanted to keep mankind in the dark durrr' 'umm if god so powerful why keep humans asleep aha the snake was the good guy'.

But its because they number 1: arent very intelligent themselves and/or number 2: quite naïve about how things work in this world.

In my opinion, the original destiny of mankind was to become just as powerful and intelligent as God himself but with the layered understanding of Aeons on how to achieve this task.

Making Adam eat the fruit (which in my opinion was some kind of psychedelic mushroom) meant that Adam could never achieve this in an unadulterated innocent way. He was now tainted by insanities and sinfulness (the ability to lie and blame others for their own actions being the first that is demonstrated after he eats the fruit) and could never achieve equal footing with the Creator in the way that was intended.

After that he was cast out of paradise because he was no longer pure of heart and intention and the entire universe collapsed into material suffering. Animal eating animal, plants eating plants, people killing eachother for limited resources.

Then Jesus came along and gave us a way out. That if we believe in him and in his purity, through him we may be granted access to heaven when we die.

Quite simple to understand just reading that all back, but it took me quite a long time to piece all of that together.

mate bro if you just replace god with nature and at a slow pace with natural selection then you got your answer

What made you Christian if you used to be really deep in anti-christian spaces?

I don’t get how eating an apple was a sin. I eat apples all the time and nothing changed in my life.

Even if this is true it still doesnt answer why God protected the tree of life so intensely after the tree of wisdom was partaken upon by adam and eve. And theres no teleology ascribed to Adam's understanding of the world in the Bible. One can say God revealing language to Adam meant he was already past the "Child stage" as language development coincides with the rapid learning stage (infancy ) and thus Adam was already well on his way to true knowledge if God had revealed languge in order to usher Adam into knowledge. Instead its much more plausible God only revealed the animals and plants that could be partaken upon so that Adam wouldnt die of starvation. Why language was required for that I have no clue unless you figure that man of yore required cooperation to hunt mammoths and animals of similar size so that he could feed himself

There wasn't one particular thing that caused the 180 in perspective, it was an accumulation of things. A major one I would say was this incessant finger pointing towards Christianity as a 'dumb' religion that only 'idiots' follow. So I decided to actually read the new testament for myself to see just how ridiculous it was.
I realised after reading the NT that it was an incredibly beautiful piece of literature and the messages in there are so fucking advanced that only a God entity could possibly come up with them.
Let's take for instance the quote of Jesus on the cross when he said; 'Forgive them father for they know not what they do'. On its own, it's clear he is asking the Father to forgive them because they have just killed God (as he appeared in the flesh). This two-way communication I would say shows that Jesus had his human personality but also through his human personality, God spoke through him. He was the word made flesh after all.
But the second way to look at it is as a life lesson for those who come after. That you are to forgive people of their transgressions towards you because most people are tortured their entire lives by Nimrods system (this world). People will tear eachother apart for scraps because they have this need to survive in this fallen place. They don't understand what is really important and it ultimately isn't their fault.

Also I guess realising that the beliefs I had at the time were incredibly worldly. Only focussed on the world, only focussed on personal gratification and I just couldn't deny anymore that there was something much more to existence than what is right in front of you.
I remember thinking to myself whilst on shrooms that 'Not only can the living dead not read between the lines, but they don't even know there are lines to read in-between'. This applied to the bible but also to life in general. The pandemic happened and then when I saw my street standing outside clapping for NHS nurses like Pavlov's dog, it clicked that people are psychological slaves and they will never break out of it. Jesus asking people to love one another made much more sense now. You can't hate or make fun of an abuse victim, you must pity them and try to help them reduce their own suffering. That's all you can do.

It's so profound that I had to bend the knee and admit the New Testament is the word of God. After that, I was led down a rabbit hole that I don't really have enough time to describe here but I'll tell you that the world makes much more sense to me now than it did.

Adam and eve could eat of the tree of life. They were immortals. It was the tree of knowledge that was guarded because they weren't ready to eat of that yet. As I said, Adam was to learn in stages and eating of the knowledge tree fucked that process up.

The only thing we have of learning Adams understanding of the world is the naming of the animals as I said, but he was a very simple creature with this innate connection to the divine which is why he was able to pull names out of the ether.
One can say God revealing language to Adam meant he was already past the "Child stage" as language development coincides with the rapid learning stage (infancy ) and thus Adam was already well on his way to true knowledge if God had revealed languge in order to usher Adam into knowledge.
Adam was compared to us, a superhuman. A demigod. Adam just getting to grips with language shows just how early in his creation he was corrupted.

Instead of eating the apple when it was offered, he should have come to the realisation that there are other entities that are going against the Creator and trying to get him to sin. He would therefore have an understanding of evil and sin without having to partake in eating of the tree, thus achieving the same result without disobeying the Creator.

Instead its much more plausible God only revealed the animals and plants that could be partaken upon so that Adam wouldnt die of starvation. Adam had no real need to eat. Starvation wasn't a thing, death wasn't a thing, predation wasn't a thing, he ate because it's enjoyable.
