Its the person who has got what he wanted before entering the room, cleared his objective and is now moving forward.
This works for every little situation of your life, you may not graduate as the top A student, you may not be The Best Athlete at the school game you joined, but did you get what you wanted out of everything you voluntarily participated in? If so, you are the smart person.
Example 1:- Some people join Uni for the sake of having a degree so that their Fortune 500 CEO father allows them to take his place, saying that you have outranked this person through marks while graduating makes ZERO sense since his goal wasn’t a short term win through a sheet of paper but rather a degree just as an eligible criteria to move forward in life.
Example 2:- Many join sports club not to be the best, not to win, just to get that status boost and make friends, have fun and get some girls along with it. So you might have defeated that person in a soccer game but he didn’t bother much since his objective was something else and he has won in life through that.
Example 3:- Huge roided bulky dudes look down upon skinny, cardio loving actually healthy and fit chaps yet the chances of these healthy chaps living longer, finding better quality women stands much higher than those unemployed roided ones. One comes to gym and builds a body just to physique mog others while the other comes with an objective of staying healthy, living a long life and being fit. The latter wins despite the former looks down upon them.
My own example- Now I’m at uni studying a degree where only the highest of the highest marks gets to do the post graduation degree (yep, another degree) in a great college without paying a huge loan/donation amount. So my goal would be - being the best at what I do and scoring the highest marks by studycelling before the term ends and developing my skills. This also allows me to end my education fast and be the best of the best in my skilled profession to mog my peers in my career who are now left behind.
(@HXTRED999 and @4ever can relate to what I mean).
TLDR: A real smart person is the one who comes out getting what he wanted navigating the reality around him to fulfil his desire/objective rather than actually being the ‘best of something’ in his field, unless that itself was his goal (my example).
