Your argument "you can literally see them" doesn't hold much if any merit because if we took what we see at face value then we would think space turned blue or ceased to exist during daytime. Fun fact: the sky isn't actually blue. It's more of a blueish violet, but our eyes are bad at detecting the violet wavelength.
I could see depth to them. Like, I could see beyond and imagine myself walking around the star.
