- Lack of sugar -
Not gonna go into depth here and play Dr. Pseudoscience because I have neither the patience nor the qualification for that. To try and test if I'm right and if you are someone who has trouble losing/maintaining weight and who finds it difficult to maintain healthy eating habits in general, just do this(↓) for a couple of days to a week before you judge my theory:
Get a shitload of bananas, dates, melons, figs or whatever sweet fruits you enjoy eating the next time you do the groceries - except from dried fruits. Don't worry about the sugar content; you want that sugar. Try to pick ripe fruits over unripe ones. If you have to buy unripe ones, let them ripen before you eat them.
The next time you have a sugar craving and feel like you need to have sth sweet, eat as many ripe fruits as you want until you are full and until your desire for sugar is gone. Don't worry about the sugar or calorie content, just eat until you are satisfied.
Important: Don't eat anything else when you have such a fruit meal, only eat fruits. As many of them and whatever kind you want until you're full. Make sure to separate fruit meals from other meals for this to work.
Only(!) have these fruit meals when you have sugar/sweet cravings. When you feel the desire to have steak or eggs, don't eat fruits (obviously). Do this each time(!) you have a sugar/sweet craving, even if you'd rather eat processed candy at that time. Again, for dummies: Eat as many ripe, sweet fruits as you want each time you have a sugar craving. Only(!) when you have a sugar craving. That's it.
Other than that, you will still have your usual meals/foods when you don't have sugar cravings and can eat everything you like such as meat, fish, dairy, vegetables etc. The only guidelines are to not eat out of boredom and to eat only fruits when you have sugar cravings. Everything else will be eaten when you don't have them.
While doing this for at least a couple of days, observe the way you feel, your energy levels, if and how your cravings change in frequency and intensity and if you eat less or more often than you used to. Then report back, please. Also: Don't count calories.

I know I'm gonna get crucified by know-it-all pseudoscience theorists. Inb4 "sugar is unhealthy"
