Have fun and be careful, I'm not a trained doctor and I don't take responsibility for any failures.
In this thread you will learn everything you need to know about botox how to use it and my experience with it.

Let's get started then, shall we?
1. Everything About Botox
Botox is a purified protein made from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. In controlled doses (therefore no botulism), it temporarily relaxes muscles by blocking nerve signals. It’s widely used for cosmetic treatments (like wrinkle reduction) and medical conditions (like migraines or muscle spasms). Despite its origin from a toxin, it’s considered safe when done by "trained professionals" (or looksmaxxers
).
).
1.1. What Botox Actually Is
Botox contains "botulinum toxin type A", one of several forms of the botulinum toxin.
It works by blocking acetylcholine, a chemical that tells muscles to contract.
The result: the targeted muscle relaxes (or shrinks) for several months.
1.2. Cosmetic Uses
Botox is most famous for reducing wrinkles, caused by facial movement.
But it can also be used to improve other facial flaws caused by muscle activity.
Common treatment areas:
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines (between the eyebrows)
- Crow’s feet (around the eyes)
- Lip lines / lip flip
- Jaw slimming (masseter) => what I did
- Downward mouth corners => what I did
- Appear 3–7 days after injection
- Peak around 2 weeks
- Last 3–4 months
1.3. Side Effects
Most side effects are mild and temporary!
Common:
- Small bruises
- Swelling
- Headache
- Mild asymmetry
- Dry eyes or excessive tearing
- Difficulty swallowing (in neck treatments)
- Flu-like symptoms
- Botulism (impossible if done properly)
1.4. Who Should Avoid Botox
Botox is not recommended if you:
- Have neuromuscular disorders
- Are allergic to botulinum toxin ingredients
- Have an infection at the injection site
1.5. Costs
Professionally:
Typical pricing models:
- Per unit: €8–€15 per unit
- Per area: €150–€400
DIY (what we are doing
):Roughly 0.4$ per unit
=> ≈40$ per session
JFL at everyone who doesn't do it DIY. Unless you're a millionaire it's not worth the 2500% up price.
1.6. Approximate Units Needed:
Forehead: 10–30 units
Mouth corners (DAO): 8–12 units (combined)
Masseter: 50–70 units (combined)
Nostrils: 4 units (combined)
=> These are just a few examples
1.7. Common Misconceptions:
Myth: Botox is permanent.
Reality: Effects wear off in months.
Myth: Botox is only for wrinkles.
Reality: Precise treatments can change your face far more (for example masseter botox will shrink the muscle, making your face slimmer).
Myth: Botox works like filler.
Reality: Completely different effects.
1.8. Long-Term Effects
- Weaker wrinkle formation over time
- Muscles slightly shrinking from lack of use
- Longer intervals between treatments
- There is no evidence of serious long term harm
1.9. Summary
Botox is a purified neurotoxin used medically and cosmetically to relax muscles. When injected in small doses, it temporarily smooths wrinkles and shrinks muscles over time with effects lasting about 3–4 months.
2. How to Do Botox DIY
Now let's get to the juicy part
Here's an in-depth guide on how to do botox at home.
2.1. Preparation
Before you do anything else, you should start by researching these things:
a) How does botox work?
For this you can simply read the first part of the thread or do extra research.
b) What procedures do you want to do?
For this, use you should start by using common sense. Can paralysing a muscle achieve what I want to change? If you're unsure, google for example: "can botox make my mouth wider?"
If you get a result, start with c).
c) Plan the procedure
You should research how many units of botox you need, you should study excessively where the muscle is and where you definitely shouldn't be pinning. Also research the depth of the injection! Keep in mind, botox can spread for about 1cm.

2.2. Needed Utensils / Ordering
2.2.1 Utensils needed for the procedure
Needed:
- Botox (botulinum toxin type A)
- Saline 0.9% solution
- Syringes with fitting needle lengths (insulin syringes will be enough)
- Alcohol wipes
Optional:
- Lidocaine cream (didn't hurt even without)
- Medical gloves
2.2.2.Ordering:
I ordered Wondertox from meamoshop.com
They shipped everything needed in one package. This can be quite useful.
2.3. How to Reconstitute
1. As soon as the package arrives, store the saline and botox in a refrigerator.
2. When you plan on using it, start reconstitution shortly before. If you need help with the math, watch this:
If you use insulin syringes and 100units botox, you can use 2.5ml saline so that 0.1ml = 4 units Botox.
Keep in mind: units on the syringe ≠ ml !
2.4. Preparing for the Procedure
2.4.1. Loading up the syringes
1) Calculate the desired amount of units per injection.
2) Load up the syringes with the desired amount of units you want to use per injection (you can use the same syringe twice if you don't want to be wasteful. Just load up the amount for 2 injections).
3) Put the cap back on the syringe and move on.
2.4.2. Face preparation
1) Wash your face to get rid of bacteria.
2) Get something to hold back your hair if needed.
3) (optional) Apply Lidocaine/numbing cream and let it sit for 30 minutes (I did without and it barely even hurt).
2.4.3. Marking the injection points
Earlier we already determined the amount of injection points needed for every procedure and where we put them.
1) Use alcohol wipes to clean the area again and let it dry.
2) Mark the injection points with something (I used a brow pen).
2.5. Injecting
1) Pick the syringe with the correct amount of units you prepared earlier.
2) Insert the needle as deep as you determined to ho earlier. Depth will vary drastically based on the procedure. Also keep the angle in mind if needed.
3) Inject slowly. We don't want the solution to spread uncontrollably.
2.6. Aftercare
- Keep your head up for the next few hours
- Sleep on your back the same night to prevent the toxin to spread
- Don't touch the muscles or use them too much
- Don't cause any unnecessary strain on the body (working out/sport, hot showers or sauna,... Just don't be a retard and sit for a few hours)
3. My Experience with Botox
I did Botox because I felt like it could improve some crucial flaws about my face. For example, my face is pretty wide, and my masseter muscles are quite developed, partly because I had orthodontics for about 8 years, which basically forced me to use my muscles all the time.
So in order to make my face less wide and appear slimmer, I decided to do masseter Botox. This procedure is pretty straightforward. You inject large amounts of the toxin to nuke the muscle and lose volume in the area.
Next, I opted for a mouth widening procedure because my mouth-to-nose ratio is pretty off. The mouth widening procedure works by relaxing the Depressor Anguli Oris (DAO), which pull down your mouth corners, making it look less wide.
At last, I decided to do a nose slimming procedure again to improve my mouth-to-nose ratio, because a slimmer nose is always more attractive.
3.1. Masseter Botox
I started with the masseter procedure. I followed everything I described in the second part of this thread. The pain was very little, even though I didn't use a numbing cream. I used 30 units per side, and I did five injections per side. The depth of the injections varied between 8mm and 11mm.

3.2. Mouth Widening
Next, I did the mouth widening procedure. I tracked the muscle and I injected 3 and 2 units in two injection points on every side. Again, the pain was non existent, especially because the injection was very shallow, only 3mm deep.

3.3. Nose Slimming
At last, I did the nose slimming procedure. I injected 2 units in each nostril. This was quite difficult and quite painful. I struggled a lot and I'm questioning if it even worked.
