If you cannot be bothered reading this guide, I highly recommend bookmarking or screenshotting for a later read.
Because if you do read this entire guide, and apply what you learn
You will be one step closer to the porcelain -skinned version of yourself you imagine in the mirror
More so than you will be reading any other guide on this site.

This guide will have all of the information on Microneedling you could ever need.
After reading this guide in full, you should be as knowledgeable as someone who has been microneedling for 8 months, knows what it is, what it does, what it's for, how it works, how it interacts with other looksmaxxing methods, the benefits, the side effects, the products it works well with, and everything in between without even touching a micro needle cartridge.
And yes, you can do it at home.
5 years of accutane is 5 years of microneedling from 20-25.
Microneedling clears. For acne control, accutane will be better, but for skin issues, anti-aging, and collagen stimulation, microneedling clears. If you do the methods I describe in this guide, as well as use accutane, and don't block up your skin with incel diet, after 12 months you will be the kid with the best skin in your school. You will be the passenger with the best skin at the airport, you will be the pedestrian with the best skin in the town, and you will be the person with the best skin in her dorm.

I used to know nothing about microneedling a year ago. When I saw how insane the before and after pics of those Indian grandmas losing all their wrinkles, I thought microneedling was some Indian folk method where they got a lot of needles and stabbed it into the skin or smthn, much bigger needles like acupuncture.

If you are reading this, you likely know at least what microneedling IS, which should give you confidence to endure the length of this awfully written guide.

The info I put in my guides is ALWAYS out there. As goes for EVERY guide on this site. What my guide does is save you hours of research and experience and puts all the information you would have learned into one distilled article.
Never trust anyone telling you they have secrets, whether in a looksmaxxing influencer's course, or an .org guide.
While reading any looksmaxxing guide, the thought should always be "are actual models doing this?"
Or is it only autistic .org users?

What Even is Microneedling?

Microneedling is when you rapidly stab your face with metal needles, usually using an electric-powered device. Jokes aside, microneedling is when you use either a dermaroller or a dermastamp to stab the skin.
This is for 2 main reasons:
1: It triggers your body's natural healing responses, making your body produce and send collagen and elastin to the surface of your skin, making your skin look much more youthful and less visibly saggy.
2: It allows products that otherwise have a hard time penetrating the skin (like hyaluronic acid) to bypass the outer layers.

But is it actually that good?
Yes. Compared to topical retinol and accutane, microneedling mogs when it comes to increasing collagen levels.

Microneedling = stab skin with microneedles to create micropunctures to trigger your body's healing response. Good for increasing collagen, good for letting topical solution bypass the top layer of skin.

comparing Microneedling with Retinoids when it comes to increasing Derma-collagen:

Microneedling physically injures the skin in a controlled way, which makes fibroblasts in the dermis panic and start overproducing collagen. Topical retinoids like tretinoin also increase collagen, but it takes way longer, and it's chemical not mechanical. Microneedling wins in speed, depth, and total collagen upregulation.

Collagen = structural protein. There's 28 types. Type I and III are the ones you want for skin glow. Microneedling boosts both.

The 28 Types of Collagen:

Collagen 1 - most important
Collagen 3 — so on

★★★★★ Collagen 1: microneedling stimulates it more than retinol (deep passes 0.5mm+)
★★★★☆ Collagen 3: boosted by microneedling 0.25mm–1mm, makes skin more elastic and youthful
★★★☆☆ Collagen 4: helps skin barrier, microneedling supports with repeated light passes
★★☆☆☆ Collagen 5 & 6: indirect boost from I/III increases, they act as support scaffolding
★☆☆☆☆ Collagen 7: anchors epidermis, gets minor support from long-term sessions
☆☆☆☆☆ Collagen 2: irrelevant unless you're rebuilding cartilage

COLLAGEN 1:

Main collagen in skin. Responsible for firmness and structure. If your skin sags or folds weird when you smile, you want more collagen I.
Microneedling is one of the best ways to stimulate it — better than tret, better than peptides. Do 0.5mm+ every 10 days for 3 months and you'll see it.

COLLAGEN 3:

Gives skin its youthful bounce. Kids have a lot of it. You don't.
Microneedling at medium depths brings it back. Combo with peptides post-needle to stack gains.

COLLAGEN 4:

Basement membrane collagen. Not sexy, but it’s necessary. Needed for good healing. Microneedling supports it over time through trauma + recovery cycles.

COLLAGEN 5 & 6:

They're like the background characters holding up collagen 1 and 3. Don't overthink. You boost them by boosting the others.

COLLAGEN 7:

If your skin sheds like a sunburn peel, it's probably low. Long-term consistent microneedling might help. Minor buff, not main focus.

How to Actually Use the Dermapen (Without Destroying Your Face)

So you've read the guide, got your dermapen/stamp/roller, and you're ready to stab your face. Here's how to do it without ending up looking like a tomato for a week.

1. Prep Your Skin: Cleanse your face thoroughly. Use an alcohol-based cleanser to ensure there's no bacteria. Apply a numbing cream if you're going deeper than 0.5mm. Wait 20-30 minutes for it to take effect.

2. Set Up Your Dermapen: Use a new, sterile cartridge. Set the needle depth (if applicable):
- 0.25mm for product absorption (or pussies)
- 0.5mm-1.0mm for collagen induction
- 1.5mm+ for deep scars (not recommended for beginners)

3. Microneedling Process: Divide your face into sections (forehead, cheeks, chin, etc.). Gently glide the pen/roller over each section in horizontal, vertical, and diagonal patterns. Do not press hard; let the device do the work. If using stamp, gently press needles into the skin , being carful to cover the entire desired area of improvement.

4. Post-Treatment Care: Your skin will be red and might feel like a sunburn. Apply a hyaluronic acid serum to hydrate. Avoid makeup, sun exposure, and sweating for at least 24 hours.

5. Frequency: Start with once every 4-6 weeks. Overdoing it can lead to irritation and damage.

Remember, consistency is key. Results won't appear overnight, but with regular sessions, you'll see improvements in skin texture, tone, and overall appearance.

Visual Aids

To help you visualize the process, here are some resources:

POST CARE = DON’T FUCK IT UP
— No gym for 24 hrs
— No sun for 48 hrs
— No actives for 72 hrs
— Use HA + peptides after
— Sanitize your dermapen before/after
You’re literally stabbing your face. Treat it like an open wound or you’ll end up worse than where you started.

CLOSING THOUGHTS:
This is your warning. Microneedling is not optional anymore. If you want glass skin and collagen-rich glow, this is your tool.
Forget overpriced serums. This is the weapon. Use it or cope.
