Here is what to expect from this thread: a method that allows you to read books, articles, threads, etc. at super speed (400+ WPM). However, this method does not apply to everything (it doesn’t work well with difficult texts like physics, philosophy, math, etc.). Don’t worry—I will also teach you how to speed-read those as well. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

Subvocalization is the natural, often subconscious habit of “hearing” an internal voice or subtly moving your speech organs (throat, tongue, lips) while reading silently. I’m sure many people do this, but you need to stop—it’s holding you back.

Instead, let your brain recognize words directly. At first, it might be difficult, and you may struggle to comprehend what you read, but don’t worry—we’ll get to that. The important thing is to practice.

Take a pen and hold it under the words or sentences you are going to read. Move it across the page at a high speed (if you’re reading a book). This will force your brain to read faster.

There’s not much to say here—the most important thing is practice. Personally, I recommend not focusing too much on speed while reading. Instead, try to engage with the material (while using the methods mentioned above).

You can also test yourself after reading.

If you are reading difficult material, I recommend reading as fast as possible the first time and completely ignoring comprehension. Then, read it again at a normal speed.

This will save you a lot of time because you’ll already be familiar with the topic, so you won’t need to reread the same sentences over and over again.

If you use a computer, I recommend this extension:
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/sprint-reader-speed-readi/kejhpkmainjkpiablnfdppneidnkhdif
This helped me a lot.

If you are on a phone, search for speed-reading apps in the Play Store or App Store.

write down your thoughts, outline key points

Use interval review: after absorbing information, review it for 5–10 minutes every 5 hours

Separate them into chunks

Take speed reading test, track progress

In conclusion, use the methods I taught you. Don’t stress if you’re not able to speed-read on your first try—keep practicing until you master it. Good luck

Good thread. Yeah I realized this a few weeks ago, subvocalization makes me read like 3x slower than I would otherwise :lul:
