At the tiniest scales, time, space, and cause/effect behave nothing like we're used to
It is theorized the big bang arose from quantum fluctuations
Quantum fluctuations don't need a cause in the way we as humans seek, they are simply part of physics
A particle can pop in and out of existence for no apparent reason
Meaning, something can 'just happen', including the birth of the universe
I believe this theory, and eventually there will be the heat death of the universe, but once expansion stops, gravity will pull everything back together, collapsing back into a single point, and eventually lead to another big bang
The cycle will repeat, Bang -> Expand -> Crunch -> Bang
