I see what you're saying, but I think you're missing the nuance here. It's about understanding the complicated dynamics at play in both sides of the political spectrum and how they deal with masculinity and gender roles.

I do criticize patriarchy, but that doesn’t mean I automatically buy into the left’s view of what masculinity should be. There’s a difference between wanting to dismantle harmful societal structures (men are only betabuxx protector & providers) and recognizing that both sides misuse masculinity.

The left, for all its talk about equality, often shames men for being men. The patriarchy created certain damaging ideals, but the left seems to often swing in the opposite direction by trying to redefine masculinity in a way that doesn’t necessarily serve men either—like pushing for the “feminization” of men instead of letting them define their identity. To the left the idea of being a man who lifts weights, smokes cigars and eats steak is abhorrent, just like to the right the idea of being a man who paints his nails and wears fluffy hair is abhorrent. Both seek to oppress men, just different archetypes of men.

I am pro-man in the way that i’m pro-choice for men. I think a man should be able to decide for himself how to conduct himself, and should be valued no more or less for how he presents himself to the world. Whether a man wants to act all macho and traditional or paint his nails, or perhaps a combination of the two should only be up to him, and he should never be pressured to fit societal ideals, whatever they may be at that time. That’s what i believe.

about the label of “leftist”. I’m not scared of labels, but I think labels often oversimplify complex issues. My point that both sides try to mold men into one thing or another, and neither sides has shown they believe in men’s inherent value as human beings. The biggest champions of leftism, the feminist stereotype all men as being a privileged oppressor class simply because the top 1% who oppress everyone are mostly men. But I will give the left this, their standing up for the rights of homosexuals is admirable.

You do not define several aspects of what you're saying
What is "men being men"
Yes a man should decide for himself how to conduct himself, but it should stop when he tries to harm other people's existence and oppress them
They are not "pushing for the feminization of men", you're contradicting yourself, what if they're just representing feminine men that exist out there?
They're just showing that men can't just be some macho sterotypes
