Most men look better than women a study has shown "signaling theory"
TLDR: looks is basically a signaling factor telling females if you have good genetics, because it is hard to fake.
Having a good jaw as a man is hard to fake.
Having hunter eyes + good coloring is almost impossible to fake.
Height is hard to fake:
Conclusion, features that are hard to fake are valuable to females. Which is the reason why girls give it so much importance.
But there is also a metabolic cost to having these features, good eyebrows skin, etc takes a toll on the body which furthers signals to females your fit for sexual reproduction
Which is why most males are better looking than women, meaning women are naturally flocking to the top 5% of men
Those men in the top 5% have the most signaling features.
Eyebrows, skin etc
But there are so few of those men that not every women can access a top 5% man.
But let’s remember WOMEN ARE COMPETING with each other for the top 5%
Exemple of a guy belonging in the top 5%:
For now women have their eyes mainly on these guys.
And forget that 95% remaining other guys exists.
But THE ONLY WAY WOMEN can outcompete each other is with MAKEUP.
They put tons of makeup on their face to MULTIPLY their chances of landing a guy in the top 5%
Exemple of an average woman without makeup and with makeup (attempting to outcompete other women for chad):
Now why would women wear makeup if it wasn’t to outcompete other women ?
Well there are two cases.
If all other women on earth disappeared besides her, she would have no competition for chad. Because she would chad only option, but since there are better looking women than her everywhere, she has to use makeup to boost her smv.
So when women say they don’t wear makeup for men or make themselves beautiful for men it’s partially true.
They do these things for 5% of men, screw the 95% others. They do these things to be more beautiful than other women, literally. So in essence women are making themselves prettier for other women and 5% of men.
So 100% of women and 5% of men so women saying they don’t get dressed for men is true. They do it mainly for other women.
But if a woman can’t outcompete other women and land a guy whose in the top 5% she will have to settle for the average joe

Above is a picture of the average guy you would see walking the down if you lived in a metropolitan area in any western city (excluding med and South Eastern Europe)
Of course she will end up cheating on him.
Tldr: good looks is signaling, and is only valuable because it’s hard to fake good looks, females competes with each other for the top 5% males, women who can’t compete with their natural beauty resort to using makeup to outcompete other women so that they can land top 5% men. If a women can’t land a top 5% she will settle for an average joe.
The average joe will smash and everything but his girls will cheat on him with chad on every occasion.
