There was a time when one name dominated every teenager's wall and school locker. That whole era of universally adored teen heartthrobs feels like it faded with the 2010s. Zac Efron singing in the rain, Bieber with that swoopy hair. Now everything feels more fragmented. One person’s crush is a TikToker with 2M followers, another’s is an anime character, someone else is simping over Pedro Pascal.

It’s like we’ve moved from global heartthrobs to algorithm-picked mini crushes. The internet kinda broke the idea of a “universal” teen icon.
