It's almost 4 in the morning and I'm honestly shocked by the number of homeless people I see around here. In some neighborhoods it feels like there are easily thousands it's hard to walk a block without seeing tents, sleeping on footpaths, hanging around with their belongings in carts or bags, some clearly under the influence of drugs. What's even more surprising is that many of them are quite young and able bodied. You'd think they could find some kind of work and try to live a stable dignified life but it seems like they've chosen this lifestyle. California should change it's name to the Homeless Central

I imagine it’s difficult to get a job when you look greasy and don’t have access to a shower which would make it difficult to come to work kempt every morning lots of prejudice against the homeless as well I imagine. Just a downwards loop/spiral of negatives that make it hard go get back on track. US is an every man for himself state. Wrong life circumstances and I imagine it’s pretty easy to get homeless

The homeless here are so disgusting and annoying. A homeless East European foid approached me flashing her baby in my face begging me for food money really thinking that I was gonna fall for that shit.

In any major city in the usa thats how it is, this isnt some third world country or other country where you and your family can have a small area of land and build a hut or home and fish all day and enjoy life. In the usa you need to be either be part of the system from working or be rich/wealthy were the system works for YOU. The usa doesnt allow you to be homeless. Your home or area needs to meet strict requirements and you cannot own land on your own the government owns the land and you must pay a yearly tax.-

Perfect weather combined with being one of the largest states.

The homeless problem is bad in LA, but doesn’t really affect OC as much.

California is very spread out.

Aren’t you in SF? It’s also pretty bad over there.

Lots of smaller cities give homeless people a one way bus ticket to the nearest metropolitan area.

California is the only place in the 15+ U.S. states that I've been to... where I've seen wooden slums you would only see in brasil or something

Mexicans have a pretty low SMV in SoCal, which is funny because there's so many of them.

Even Asians and black guys do better.
